The Process Alignment Review, which replaces the Process Adherence Review, is designed to answer the question “Of all the opportunities we had to contribute to the Solve Loop, how often did we?”
PAR is not a grade or a score on a knowledge worker, it is an indicator of engagement and provides opportunities for learning.
– Monique Cadena, Consortium Innovator
PAR is a powerful way to assess KCS program health and to identify individual coaching opportunities, and Consortium Members, who are continually evolving KCS, have been hard at work to make the original approach more understandable and easier to use.
The result is more straightforward labeling and calculations, actionable outputs, and more options for getting started.
This new approach, outlined in detail in the Consortium Library and linked from the KCS v6 Practices Guide, offers three models for varying levels of complexity:
- Essential (looking at reuse)
- Expanded (looking at reuse and create)
- Comprehensive (looking at reuse, improve, and create)
It also includes guidance around who does the PAR, and a Glossary which defines the parts of each model, what it means, and ways to influence the outcome.
Hear about these updates from Jennifer Crippen of DB Kay & Associates in this 12 minute video.
Consortium Members have access to David Kay’s thorough presentation on this topic, as well as the Member-only Process Alignment Workbook which has several example PAR models to experiment with. Consortium Members: log in to access link.
