For experienced trainers who intend to sell and deliver KCS training to people outside their company.
The exam is based on material outlined in the KCS v6 Trainer Certification Study Guide and qualifies someone to teach the KCS Overview, KCS v6 Practices, and the KCS Leadership workshops as long as they have a signed license agreement in place. The difference between a KCS v6 Trainer and a KCS v6 Internal Trainer is the type of license agreement they sign.
- Prerequisites: Attend a KCS v6 Practices Workshop, pass the KCS v6 Practices certification exam, complete the application to become a Certified Trainer, and organize and co-teach a KCS v6 Practices Workshop with a Certified Trainer.
- Format: Proctored exam of about 36 fill-in-the-blank questions with a 90 minute time limit. The Consortium uses Webassessor to facilitate this exam. Online and in-person (at global Kryterion Test Centers) options are available.
- The KCS v6 Trainer exam is currently only available in English. No supporting materials are allowed during the exam. Exam policies and procedures are provided on the testing center website after scheduling the exam.
- Pricing: $650. All fees are non-refundable.
- Digital Badge: Upon successfully passing the exam, you will be issued a digital badge through Credly.
Exam Results
The exam is scored by hand, based on the candidate’s understanding of the KCS concepts and principles, and is reviewed with the candidate by a staff member from the Consortium for Service Innovation in a 60 minute session.
If the candidate’s exam registration was paid for by the candidate’s company, that company has the right to receive the Pass/Fail exam result. Registrations paid for by an individual candidate will be kept confidential.
Should you need to retake the exam, a fee of $650 will apply.
Certification Renewal
Certification begins on the date of completing all certification requirements and ends 24 months later. In order to maintain an active certification status, you must:
- Be up to date on workshop royalty payments
- Deliver two (2) one day or longer KCS workshops within 24 months of becoming certified and every two years thereafter
KCS Community Rules of Conduct
Participation in Consortium for Service Innovation certification activities indicates that you have read and agree to the Consortium’s Member Rules of Conduct. Lack of adherence to these rules of conduct will be grounds for loss of certification status and exclusion from the KCS network at the Consortium’s discretion.
