— Asked by forward-thinking support organizations implementing KCS
KCS Verification
The Consortium has developed a list of minimum functional criteria and a set of scenarios through which vendors demonstrate their tools' ability to support the KCS practices.
Benefits
Once the formal process of verification is complete for a product, the vendor will have specific rights and privileges to marketing materials. The Marketing Guide includes:
- KCS Verified logo for use on software packaging, marketing materials, web site and trade show advertising.
- A Verified Logo Style Guide defining acceptable use of the logo and color information.
- Guidelines for a quote from the Consortium should the vendor wish to issue a press release about attaining KCS Verified status.
Additionally, a listing of Verified products will be maintained on the Consortium web site with links to the vendors' web page.

Demonstrate your support of the KCS practices
While the Consortium for Service Innovation members have worked to evolve the KCS methodology, we do not evaluate or recommend tools or technology. Now for the first time, the Consortium is offering knowledge management vendors the opportunity to demonstrate their support of the KCS practices.
Through the KCS Verified program, vendors may demonstrate their products support the minimum functionality for KCS and can have their products designated as KCS Verified
To be KCS Verified the product must demonstrate it has 90% of the functionality outlined in the KCS Verified Criteria [.pdf]. The fact that the following products have achieved the KCS Verified designation does not relieve the buyer of doing due diligence on the product functionality. In particular, buyers should be sure to understand the products functionality for authoring and searching and confirm that the vendor's approach will support the buyer's needs.
