The KCS Verified program is an opportunity for vendors to demonstrate their support of the Consortium for Service Innovation's Knowledge-Centered Support (KCS) practices. The program is open to all vendors who supply knowledge management functionality. The KCS Verified designation is for major releases of products which successfully complete the KCS Verified process. Membership in the Consortium is not a pre-requisite, however, for those companies who are members, there are additional benefits such as participation in the KCS program team and the opportunity to publish joint case studies and white papers.
Getting Verified - a six-step process
- The KCS Verified Agreement is entered into by each vendor who seeks to have their product(s) carry the designation of "KCS Verified." It outlines the conditions of participation, disclaimers and conditions of Verified authorization.
- At least one representative from the candidate company must attend the KCS Foundations Workshop (offered by HDI and/or the Consortium at the current market rate).
- The vendor must conduct the KCS Verified self-assessment for the candidate product(s).
- The Consortium will independently confirm the KCS functionality (for the list of required functionality and scenarios please see The KCS Verified Criteria).
- KCS Verification will be issued and renewed for products by major-number release.
- KCS as a methodology continues to evolve. The current version of KCS is 3.0. KCS Verified designation will be for a specific version of the KCS methodology. It is anticipated that new versions of the KCS methodology will not be done in less than a 24 month cycle.
